To Our Precious, Little Baby Girl...

The hope for this blog is that we get to share with our daughter-to-be, family, and friends what is going on in our lives as we start getting prepared for her BIG DAY and arrival outside of the belly! It'll be a no-holds-barred attempt at our new experiences, challenges, and day-to-day life while our little "bun in the oven" continues to bake. At some point, we hope this will be a loving story for you, little girl, to look back on and hopefully will also be entertaining and educational to read! We love you, little monkey, and are so blessed to have you growing stronger and stronger every day! Love, Mom and Dad

"Too Much Of A Good Thing Can Be Wonderful!"

~Mae West

Yay for Nicole and her wonderful hosting abilities as yet another Coleman party goes on record! Today was Ms. Meghan's baby shower at Nicole's house. With the shear genius and love of this woman, the house was beautifully and cutely decorated with baby girl clothes hung from clotheslines, lime green and pink balloons everywhere, a gorgeous and delicious spread of finger foods, adorable crepe paper bows, amazing diaper cake, tasty strawberry cake, festive games like "Name the baby jungle animal," "the safety pin game," "gift bingo," and "name that baby food." All of these games I failed horribly at, but had such a good time participating in! Well done to the hostess with the most-est. Even the invites, party favors, and plates/napkins were just the sweetest things! It was so nice to see Nicole TWO weekends in a row-and I'll even get to see her tomorrow at a neighbor's party. Nicole is such a gracious host, always thinking of others, and she does it so well and so effortlessly. Well done and congratulations on a wonderful party that I was lucky enough to attend. And, of course, congratulations to the wonderful Mom-To-Be, Miss Meghan! She got many sweet things for baby girl Elsa, who's due in the middle of January, and I think she will be one loved little lady!

Earlier this morning I got distracted putting together a baby toy table out in the front room, re-organizing some stuff in the garage, researching a few things on the internet, setting up more stuff in the nursery (really it was just re-purposing the closet), organizing the closet, and cleaning up the kitchen that I totally missed helping set up for tomorrow's church service like I was planning on doing. Time just slipped by and before I knew it, it was time to get ready for Meghan's shower and I hadn't even noticed. I was really tired all day, so maybe that had something to do with it. The weather was gorgeous outside (sunny and in the 80s) and because of my organizing, I never even enjoyed it. At least I will be able to gain an extra hour of sleep tonight, which should help for me feeling more alert tomorrow! Plus, tomorrow it's supposed to be in the low 60s and storm all day, so between church and Andrea's party, I won't be doing much else besides relaxing with Tony on his day off.

After the baby shower today, Tony and I went to use some of my free underwear gift cards at Victoria's Secret, stopped at Best Buy to get a CD case for Tony, ate dinner at Chipotle, got gas, and then headed over to Tony's friend Josh's house in Elk Grove. This was the first time that I had seen Josh's place (as the other times, Tony had gone over there alone) and first time I had met Josh's lady, Tara. Tara and the house were both very nice! We were going to go see a movie called "Due Date" but we were all so tired that we just visited and then headed home.

Now, it is time to do our kick chart homework and head to pillow time, as my eyes are barely staying open. Good night to you all and hope you enjoyed your Saturday as much as I enjoyed mine!

And to Peyton...dear, sweet Peyton...thank you for loving your Mom and not making fun of her even though she spilled on all THREE outfits she wore today...I hope I don't pass this clumsy trait onto you... :)
