To Our Precious, Little Baby Girl...

The hope for this blog is that we get to share with our daughter-to-be, family, and friends what is going on in our lives as we start getting prepared for her BIG DAY and arrival outside of the belly! It'll be a no-holds-barred attempt at our new experiences, challenges, and day-to-day life while our little "bun in the oven" continues to bake. At some point, we hope this will be a loving story for you, little girl, to look back on and hopefully will also be entertaining and educational to read! We love you, little monkey, and are so blessed to have you growing stronger and stronger every day! Love, Mom and Dad

"Life Is Short. Eat Dessert First."

~Unknown

And why NOT? I took this wonderful advice and had the leftover cookie dough ice cream that I had made for myself yesterday (but hadn't been able to finish) and started with that. THEN, I had a delicious, ooey, gooey grilled cheese (with a little garlic herb turkey) sandwich...YUMMO!

All morning my stomach felt as if it were going to be stretched to it's limits from the inside. I kept picturing Peyton in there, spread eagle like the image of DaVinci's Man Vector...not moving...just trying to see how far she could extend her little bubble. It put a bunch of pressure on my back and was not the most enjoyable feeling on my belly. If it means that she is making room for herself to get bigger, I suppose I could humor her. Just know, little girl, Mom is expecting you to be a big girl after a day like today...so get growing (no pressure, or anything).

The boys and I had an enjoyable day! It was nice to go to story time at the library with them, and J was awesome at listening, clapping, sitting, dancing, and singing when appropriate. It helped that M tolerated his car seat for a longer period today, as I was trying to minimize the carrying I did because of Peyton's impact on my back/belly today.

On the new path to trying to find a new vehicle for us (something we knew was in our near future) as I will need something that can transport THREE car seats when March 1st rolls around (two nanny children plus Peyton). Any suggestions/pros/cons you guys know of? Ideally it would be under ten grand (as we still have my car loan to pay) and would get more than 20mpg in the city AND highway. We are definitely looking for a used vehicle, but something less than 5 years/100,000 miles would be preferred. I thought an Odyssey (Honda) would be sweet, but of course I can't find any in our price range. We'd appreciate any information you can send our way!

Tomorrow is a busy day, nanny-wise: story time, baby drop off to his mom at school, lunch out with older boy, open gym playtime, errand running, plus the normal day-to-day business of running a household and two boys under the age of two.

Wore my hair down for the first time in a long time that I can remember (actually the last time I can recall, it was the day Peyton was conceived back in April, o-v-e-r-s-h-a-r-e, I know, I know!) but I did it because the weather was in the mid seventies and it felt kind of nice after my shower this morning. It did NOT rain today, as expected and now that I look up the ten day forecast, there is no rain predicted...I will wait. I'm just so grateful for these last few days of fall weather! I'll take what I can get!

Mom and Ms. Monkey are going to lay down and cuddle with Dad while watching the TV. Hope you all had a fantastic day and that you have something fun planned for your weekend! This weekend marks Grandma's move out day AND the day we can start setting up Miss Peyton's room! Excited!!!

  1. How fun it will be this weekend and in the next weeks getting Peyton's room ready! I received the baby shower invitation from Nicole today :( Sad I won't be there to celebrate with you.
    Love you all,
