To Our Precious, Little Baby Girl...

The hope for this blog is that we get to share with our daughter-to-be, family, and friends what is going on in our lives as we start getting prepared for her BIG DAY and arrival outside of the belly! It'll be a no-holds-barred attempt at our new experiences, challenges, and day-to-day life while our little "bun in the oven" continues to bake. At some point, we hope this will be a loving story for you, little girl, to look back on and hopefully will also be entertaining and educational to read! We love you, little monkey, and are so blessed to have you growing stronger and stronger every day! Love, Mom and Dad

"In Nature, Nothing Is Perfect And Everything Is Perfect. Trees Can Be Contorted, Bent In Weird Ways, And They’re Still Beautiful."

~Alice Walker

I woke up this morning FEELING pregnant...okay, I know, I know...I AM pregnant, but for some reason, when you wake up with your belly hanging out of your PJs and your hand is gingerly resting on your baby bump, you wake up as a pregnant person. I felt very alive! What a great way to start a day, eh?

For a nice end to the work week, the boys and I spent the day at their house. Sadly, M wasn't his back to his usual self, as I think his shots are still playing a roll in his lack of appetite and that has a direct relationship on his lack of sleep. Luckily, he was relatively content this morning and only struggled this afternoon. J did two more sign language signs on his own today: blankie and help. He is growing right before my very eyes and his infectious smile is so contagious that it's hard to have a bad day when he greets you at the door with that genuine grin!

On the way into work today, I hit the 75,000 mile mark on my Saturn and moments later was also warned that I was almost out of coolant by the light ding of the dashboard alarm. I WAS able to get through the 92 degree day without overheating my car...hooray! On the way home, I deposited my paycheck and picked up some coolant at Walmart. News I heard today: Tony's dad is now working in Fresno in the same position as Tony...and yet the only reason we know this is because Tony had looked it up at work...sad when a father wouldn't even tell his own children where he is. I must move on from this subject or I'll just get worked up.

Nicole ordered the invites for our baby shower in November and she called to say that they arrived today-can't wait to see them! I also got an invitation in the mail for Meghan's shower (the week before mine). Her nursery is baby animal themed and it is adorable.

I also quickly chatted with Logan (only because I was smart enough to call his fiance) and found out that they moved Megan (a totally different Megan than the one mentioned above) into their new apartment today AND filed papers to get their marriage license. That means that most likely some time next week, Logan and Megan will be married sometime next week. So sad we won't be able to be there but glad I will get to see my new sister-in-law in February when we all go to Hawaii-where she will also be able to meet her new niece! :)

When I got home from work, I chatted with Mikee and watched "A Few Good Men" on TV while Tony and Nikki went to see the movie "Devil"...to which I had ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in seeing-it is SO NOT a love story or romantic comedy! Plus, with the pregnancy, I've had my fair share of bad dreams in the last few months that I felt no desire to feed my imagination with a scary movie. Tony said it was pretty good.

Let's see, what else is news-worthy in the life of me and Ms. Peyton? Oh, she basically kicked all afternoon and almost non-stop since I got home from work. She must be antsy for the weekend! I will bring my camera tomorrow and hopefully remember to take pictures up at Apple Hill/Boa Vista Orchards tomorrow morning. Also will be fixing the brakes tomorrow/dropping off the car on the way out of town so that hopefully it is fixed by the time we return. Hopefully the actual cost is close to what they estimated us!

I know this isn't exciting for any of you out there, but to me it seems important--while at Walmart this afternoon, I picked up twenty more hangers to hang up all of my new maternity clothes that I had ordered/bought/or was given so that they are not laying on the desk in our closet anymore. Dad's birthday is Sunday and his care package should have arrived today but he is out of town until Sunday so hopefully it will be waiting for him when he gets home.

Ummm, my back is feeling relatively alright tonight...BONUS! I'll take it! I'm not overly exhausted and am glad that the boys and I had a nice day at their house instead of doing an organized activity today. We officially ran out of milk this morning...mid-pour, mind you, into the cereal I was looking forward to...so I am so happy that today was paycheck day because that means that tomorrow we are grocery shopping.

Thought about painting my nails tonight but lately I've bent back FOUR of the ten finger nails and so they are shorter on some...and I am too anal to have painted nails that further call attention to their asymmetry! Watched the recorded episode of Project Runway from last night and that is why I am posting later than usual (I had to pause to watch it).

Good night and happy first day of October! Bring on the fall colors and weather! Excited for all that the third trimester of Monkey and fall has to bring! Love all around!
