To Our Precious, Little Baby Girl...

The hope for this blog is that we get to share with our daughter-to-be, family, and friends what is going on in our lives as we start getting prepared for her BIG DAY and arrival outside of the belly! It'll be a no-holds-barred attempt at our new experiences, challenges, and day-to-day life while our little "bun in the oven" continues to bake. At some point, we hope this will be a loving story for you, little girl, to look back on and hopefully will also be entertaining and educational to read! We love you, little monkey, and are so blessed to have you growing stronger and stronger every day! Love, Mom and Dad

"I Would Rather Sit On A Pumpkin And Have It All To Myself Than To Be Crowded On A Velvet Cushion."

~Unknown

This was the PERFECT day for Apple Hill! We left at 8am and were up there before the crowd hit. We went to our favorite farm, Boa Vista, that seems to always have the best selection and best cider/caramel apples. That means, we made record time because we weren't fighting traffic, we got the pick of the day's fresh produce, got a good parking spot, and even had wonderfully warm, sunny weather without the exhausting heat. We found some apple cider, dutch apple pie, fresh fuji apples, natural honey, caramel apples, and got to shop all of the little craft booths without being bombarded by other shoppers. Oooh, and we found some cute pumpkins, too! Although I brought my camera with us, there weren't that many things I thought that would make good pictures...

Because we timed Apple Hill so well, we were back by 10am to go sign some paperwork at Mikee's new apartment complex for next weekend so that all she has to do on Friday is pick up the key. Then we went to pick up my UNFIXED car at Les Schwab because they didn't have the brakes I needed in stock. Turns out the brakes won't be in at the store until Wednesday evening, so I scheduled my repair for next Saturday at 8am. You'd think that they would've had it in stock, but there I go assuming again...

So, we stopped at Costco and did a massive overhaul of necessities in groceries and household items. We came home, unpacked and put away all of the groceries, and made some lunch. After lunch, Mikee and I hit up Walmart for the few items we couldn't find at Costco, attempted to redeem a free car wash (which turns out is only for NEW customers and they have it video documented that my car/license plate has used the car wash back in March), and filled up with gas.

When we got home, I checked to make sure that my/our gift registries at Target and Babies 'R Us were all set up for the upcoming shower, stalked people on Facebook, played Professor Layton on Nintendo DS, flipped through a free Better Homes and Gardens Magazine that Nikki had gotten, and did a little organizing. I even got to watch Dad open his birthday package on Skype (he got home early from his weekend in Iowa) and chatted with him a little. Tony and I had planned on bike riding once it cooled down, but were unmotivated around 7ish...so the new plan is to go for the bike ride around 8am tomorrow before I have to get ready and leave for church. I did try calling the babysitting families for tomorrow to confirm the location, but have yet to hear back from them. Hmm...wonder what that means.

Although we didn't do a whole lot this morning, I am feeling like it's been a full day and I'm ready for bed. I am happy to report that I was able to sleep in until 7am this morning...I was so surprised that I did a "double take" at the alarm. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that I didn't actually fall asleep until sometime around midnight, but I'm just happy my bladder (and Peyton) didn't wake me up at the usual time.

Today was in the high eighties/low nineties...seems like we're going in the right direction, temperature-wise. This is promising for a beautiful fall that I hope is just around the corner. Hope you all have a cool, wonderful rest tonight and that your Sundays are blessed. Love you, monkey!
