To Our Precious, Little Baby Girl...

The hope for this blog is that we get to share with our daughter-to-be, family, and friends what is going on in our lives as we start getting prepared for her BIG DAY and arrival outside of the belly! It'll be a no-holds-barred attempt at our new experiences, challenges, and day-to-day life while our little "bun in the oven" continues to bake. At some point, we hope this will be a loving story for you, little girl, to look back on and hopefully will also be entertaining and educational to read! We love you, little monkey, and are so blessed to have you growing stronger and stronger every day! Love, Mom and Dad

"The Odds Of Going To The Store For A Loaf Of Bread And Coming Out With Only A Loaf of Bread Are Three Billion To One."

~Erma Bombeck

First order of business...Mikee got the apartment in Folsom! Hooray! It is so obvious how happy she is for the ball to be rolling for her to start her new job and new life in just about a month! She was so elated she couldn't contain her excitement when she called to tell me the good news this morning. And now you know what this means: added to our list of things to do this weekend, we will ALSO be making a trip to IKEA to shop for some of her new apartment necessities! Okay, twist my arm...I suppose I could tag along...just kidding: I LOVE IKEA!

This morning started out with a run to the post office to send Miss Megan her house warming package, buy stamps, mail out some birthday cards and some other randomness. Then off to Target where I found a cute red button waiting in the parking lot...calling to me to pick it up to later give to Mikee for her button collection. I proceeded into Target where I needed to buy some iron supplement vitamins...bargain! Then, my mistake came when I convinced myself I was just going to take a "quick look" at the little girl's section. Why do I do this to myself? I have NEVER been able to "just look" and even though I had a great day of organizing Monkey's abundance of clothes yesterday, I still walked out of Target with $20 worth of clearance items that I just "had to have." I found a rainbow print skirt, rainbow print leggings, a "mommy loves me" onezie, a cute little pink cardigan that looks like a petticoat and a few others I can't remember because I'm exhausted right now. Why do I do this to myself? I know that I shouldn't even go over there and then I wouldn't have to try talking myself out of buying things (never successfully, mind you), but I continue to be drawn to it. It calls out my name, I swear!

From Target I went to babysit "Tay-o" and "Jack-a-licious"...some of the best behaved boys you will ever meet. Mr. M kept smiling and giggling the whole time I was there, like he knew something I didn't know. It was so cute and clever, but I have a hunch that it might have something to do with the odors coming out of his "rumpus" all afternoon. Also, I hope their Mama K has a great birthday this Sunday!!!

It was nice chatting with my aunt, Annette, and my cousin, Mandy today. Annette has had a little excitement in her life recently due to a car incident and Mandy is keeping busy with her two sweet boys. We hadn't chatted in a while, so it was nice to catch up with each of them!

Upon arriving home, our AT&T u-verse service rep. was just finishing the updates to the outside parts of our house and needed to be let in for the inside work. I know that it's ironic that we had a premise technician called even though that's Tony's job...however...they don't let you get the codes to work on your own place, so as strange as it is, that's what had to happen. Our interference and speed levels have drastically changed in the last week or two and the technician said it was because the neighborhood's provider box with all of the cables was starting to corrode (perhaps because it was placed so close to a sprinkler head would be my guess). Anyway, after all new lines and gadgets, we are up and running at full speed. Yay for AT&T...at least where repairs are concerned...not with making their employees happy...but that's another (and LONG) story...

When Mikee got home from work, we set off to pre-shop the Labor Day sales at Kohl's for her new work clothes. We found so many things that made her look professional and attractive and with all of the deals we saved more than we spent...LOVE IT when THAT happens! She is all set for starting work...just one week left at the 'ole job.

Tomorrow we will be making our way to the haven that is known as IKEA and possibly refinishing some furniture for Monkey in the afternoon...we shall see. We also decided that because we ALL have off on Monday, we will make a family day vacation to an old military fort down in San Francisco (at the southern base of the Golden Gate Bridge) because we've been wanting to for awhile AND because it's supposed to be nice weather. I'm excited for our day trip!

Other than that, I think that basically covers today's business. Now I'm off to spend quality time with my baby daddy and snuggle while watching a DVD. Good night and hopefully we can start cooling the weather off soon!!! *Muah*
